Gubixi Coworking Space makes use of a high-speed fiber connection that allows coworkers to carry out their daily activities without interruptions. In downtown Oaxaca de Juárez, coverage is provided by ISPs Izzi, Telmex, Skynet, Masred and Ruralfon, to name a few. However, only Telmex's Infinitum service has sufficient infrastructure to deliver a reliable fiber optic connection; the other providers lack both the technology and expertise to provide a service of the robustness required at Gubixi.

In that sense, we chose Telmex as our main ISP since they were able to guarantee a 1Gbps symmetrical internet output. This means that both downstream and upstream bandwidths reach a transmission rate of 1000 bits per second, which translates into really short download and upload times. In some cases, large files - in the order of Gigabytes - are downloaded in a matter of seconds.

Two main Infinitum lines and a secondary line were contracted with the provider Izzi. The main equipments are an ATW622G and a Ping Com 7962v1, both fed by optical fiber. The secondary equipment consists of an Arris TG1652A; the latter is responsible for providing a backup connection of 200mbps for those cases in which the main lines are interrupted by an unexpected contingency.

The Internet outlets were arranged as follows: one is located in the reception area to provide service to the offices closest to the entrance; another is located in the boardroom and provides a network to the more distant spaces. However, the wireless networks in the building are broadcast by two additional TP-Link routers. These were arranged so that their signals evenly cover the entire central courtyard and offices.

Initially, the wireless networks in Gubixi emanated from the routers included with the Telmex service; however, the power and quality of these signals were insufficient to cover the entire area. For this reason, Vipul arranged for additional equipment to be installed to increase the strength of the wireless networks. Thus, with the help of an external supplier, connection nodes were installed and the additional routers were mounted on the walls of the central courtyard.

As for the necessary procedures for the concession with Telmex, some personal data of Luvia Lazo, our representative at Gubixi Coworking Space, were required; the company requested her RFC (taxpayer number) and official identification data. Once the request was completed, the service was installed in just a couple of days.

Now, after a few setbacks in terms of equipment connection, the internet service at Gubixi is stable and satisfactory. We perform speed tests on a regular basis to ensure that our customers always have the best service and support.
